3. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION

EMERGENCY OVERVIEW

  • Clear pale yellow liquid, slight smelt of solvent ,not soluble in water.
  • Harmful, may cause lung damage if swallowed.
  • Mildly irritating to skin and eyes.
  • Prolonged skin contact will result in de fattening of the skin. leading to
  • irritation and in some cases dermatitis.
  • Inhalation of solvent vapors may give rise to nausea .headaches and dizziness.
  • DANGEROUS FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

4. FIRST-AID MEASURES

CONTACT  WITH  SKIN:

After contact with skin, wash immediately with plenty of soap and water(S28)

Seek medical attention if irritation persists.

Contaminated clothing should be re laundered before reuse.

CONTACT WITH EYES: 

If substance has got into eyes, immediately wash out with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

Seek medical advice.

INGESTION:

NEVER MAKE AN UNCONSCIOUS PERSON VOMIT OR DRINK FLUIDS.

Do not  induce vomiting ,give plenty of water or milk to drink to dilute the chemical.

Seek immediate medical attention.

INHALATION  

Remove patient to fresh air .

Seek medical attention if ill effects occur.

OTHER  INFORMATION :

In case of accident or if you feel unwell , seek  medical advice ( show the label where possible)(S45)

 

5. FIRE-FIGHTING MEASURES

In case of fire use alcohol resistant foam , water fog, carbon dioxide or dry agent (S43)

Wear full protective clothing and  self- contained breathing apparatus.

Beware of the possibility of flammable vapors traveling along the ground/floor.

Keep container(s) exposed to fire cool, by spraying with water.

 

6. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES

Wear  protective  clothing   as  per  section 8.

Flammable   vapors  may  travel  along  the  ground /floor, shut  off  all  sources  of  ignition.

Contain  spillage  by  any  means  possible ,  avoid  release  into  the  environment  and  public drains.

Absorb  spillage  in  suitable  inert  material  and  place  in  appropriate  container.

Ventilate  the   area  and  wash  spill  site  after  material  pick-up is complete

 

7. HANDLING AND STORAGE

USAGE PRECAUTIONS:

The usual precautions for handling chemicals should be observed .Do not eat, drink or smoke

when handling valve care.

Avoid contact with skin & eyes.

Ensure adequate ventilation.

STORAGE PRECAUTIONS:

Keep only in the  original container in a cool , well ventilated place (S3/9/49)

Keep container tightly closed and dry(S7/8)

Keep away from sources of ignition.
